Some Like It Witchy Wishcraft Mystery Heather Blake Books
Some Like it Witchy by Heather Blake is the fifth book in the Wishcraft series and I absolutely loved it. For those not familiar with the series, it's a cozy mystery series set in a neighborhood in Salem, Massachusetts called The Enchanted Village. Most of the folks who live and work there are non-crafters, but the crafters live there and utilize their crafts (different areas of magical knowledge) to earn their living.I was riveted to the book the whole time and almost finished it in one sitting. In this series, I usually have some idea of who the villain is, but I'm never 100% sure until it's revealed at the end. In this particular installment, I had no inkling of who the villain was until the end. The twists and turns in the plot are enough to keep anyone guessing!
Our heroine has been away from the village for most of her life and I like the way Ms. Blake has us learning about the customs/practices right along with Darcy. In every book, we learn a little more about it. This book gives us more clues as to who the Elder might be, but it's not completely revealed to us.
The supporting characters in this series add so much to the story line and enrich the tales greatly. In this one, we see Mrs. P. in her new role in the series. I highly recommend the whole series, but this one was absolutely wonderful. Of course, the sad part is waiting for the next installment in the series.

Some Like It Witchy Wishcraft Mystery Heather Blake Books Reviews
I get so immersed in this story that I leave the real world for the world created by the talented Heather Blake. This is a delightfully enchanted tale where the craft is golden and it does take a village to ferret out a killer. The author does a great job in pulling me into this light drama where I’m also a part of the action, rooting for Darcy to learn the truth and the others to live a good life. I enjoyed how well the murder mystery was played out with suspects that were too good to be true and it was fun watching it all come together until that moment when I knew the killer’s identity. What appealed to me more was Darcy’s journey and I am patiently waiting for it to come full circle. This is by far the best and my favorite book in this whimsically mesmerizing series and I can’t wait to see what happens next in the Enchanted Village.
I am ashamed to say that I have had the first book in this series in my TBR stack for a LOOONG time (so many books, so little time). I was prompted to start it by the fact that the author recently released book #5. So I started reading book #1 which led me on a Darcy read-a-thon! I quickly finished the first, which led to the purchase of 2,3,4 and 5 which I read in a week and a half (yeah, didn't get much done around the house) - I didn't know what I was missing! What a fun series - I love the magical town and the clever names of the shops, the names of the various "Craft" abilities, the "familiars", the bit of romance and great relationships between family and friends. I love everything about this series - it's my idea of the perfect cozy. Write faster, Heather - I can't wait for the next one! and...I still don't like Glinda - when is she moving from the Enchanted Village??
This next book in the series is just as good or possibly better than the rest.
In this installment, an old diamond heist comes to light and the supposition is that the diamonds are hidden in Enchanted Village, specifically in the Travistock house.
Not only are they worth a lot of money, but can they also be magical? One of Darcy Merriweather’s aunt’s friends asks Darcy to help her check out the house in hopes of purchasing it. When they find the body of Raina Gallagher dead in the vacant house, it’s found to be a case of murder.
There is so much action and supposition in this book, your head will spin. Those who appear to be evil are possibly good and those who are good are possibly evil. Who killed Raina and was it for the diamonds or was it because she was having an affair? You won’t know until the end of the book. Parts of it will bring tears to your eyes and you will hold your breath as the ending plays out.
I love Heather Blake’s book and can’t wait to read the next one in the series. She writes with a passion and is a wonderful story teller. Her books are written so that you can experience the plot and feel like the characters are friend.
Of course I loved, Some Like It Witchy. I have loved every book from Heather Blake and Heather Weber that I have read. I skipped from the first book to this one and am now reading two books back. I don't recommend that path but it isn't to bad switching around. Not a true stand-alone but doable.
For me although the mysteries are awesome the best part of her writing is the warmth of the central characters. She create believable characters that I would love to have as friend. The paranormal twist just adds a bit of spice. I am so impressed with the rules and laws by which they have to live and love to see how they affect the story. The reading is fairly light, cozy paranormal, but the characters and the stories have a wonderful complexity that makes her work stand out.
When Cherise hires Darcy to help her find a new house, Darcy does expect to be pulled into her second job as craft snooper; but when they find the real estate agent dead in a closet that is exactly what happens. It doesn't seem like there should be many suspects since the victim is a wonderful person but it doesn't take long before the list gets long and complicated. One of the biggest complications is a fortune in magical diamonds that have been hidden on the property for many years.
